Dr. Michele Owens
Dr. Michelle M. Owens prides herself on taking the time to get to know her patients and thoroughly addressing their needs and concerns. She understands that choosing a healthcare provider is one of the most important decisions one can make. Not only is she knowledgeable, caring and accessible, she is willing to take the time to go over all options and treat each individual as a person, not just a patient. Her special interests are in laparoscopic, pelvic floor reconstruction and incontinence surgery, as well as helping her patients improve their appearance with the use of Botox and dermal fillers.
Providing surgical cures for gynecologic conditions has been one of Dr. Owens proficiencies. Most patients want minimal scars and minimal down time. Therefore, Dr. Owens always attempts to perform surgeries in the most benign fashion possible. She is one of the first gynecologists in Crowley to focus on minimally invasive procedures both in the hospital and office. She routinely performs endometrial ablations and incontinence procedures under local anesthesia in the office as well as laparoscopic hysterectomies as an outpatient surgery.
Dr. Owens is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and has been in private practice in Crowley, Louisiana since 1999. She received her medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. She completed her internship and residency at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Women and Children in Orlando, Florida. Dr. Owens was chosen to serve as Chief Resident of the Obstetrics and Gynecology department from 1998-1999. She is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a Diplomat of the Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Owens makes her home in Crowley with her husband and two children. Not only does she enjoy spending time with her family and traveling, she also enjoys establishing a continuum of care with her patients and building lifelong relationships with them and their families. She is proud to be a part of making a difference in her community.
